Ashley Flynn Murder Trial: The Case Against Caleb Flynn
In the early morning hours of February 16, 2026, former worship pastor Caleb Flynn called 911 from his Tipp City, Ohio, home. He said an intruder had broken in and shot his wife, Ashley Flynn, while their two young daughters slept nearby. Caleb told responding officers that the person had taken a handgun from the center console of his truck in the garage before entering the house.
Ashley was pronounced dead. She was 37 years old, a mother of two, a substitute teacher, a volleyball coach, and a volunteer in her church community. She was also pregnant at the time of her death, according to the later indictment.
The Story Investigators Began to Question
As investigators examined the home, they found details that did not appear to fit the reported break in. The garage door was open but partially blocked, no unknown person or vehicle was identified on available neighborhood footage, and police began treating Ashley's death as a targeted homicide rather than an ongoing threat to the community.
Four days after Ashley was killed, police arrested Caleb. In March, a grand jury indicted him on 11 counts, including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and witness intimidation. The aggravated murder charge alleges that Ashley's death was planned in advance. Caleb has pleaded not guilty to every count.

Caleb's trial is now underway in Miami County, Ohio. Prosecutors allege he shot Ashley and staged the scene to look like a burglary.
